Muse - Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever)
It wasn't going to be long until Messrs Bellamy and Co were asked to provide a title track to a scorching Summer blockbuster....and here it is.
Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever) is to be included on the soundtrack to this summers epic episode from the Twilight Saga film series, the movie, due for release on 30 June and entitled "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" will no doubt see more lovey dovey neck biting and blood gulping shenanigans whilst you sway slowly in your seat to the likes of various 'A-List' bands and artists (can you tell I am too long in the tooth to be drawn into all this vampire palaver?)
Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever) starts with Bellamy's trademark vocal and a lovely solo piano piece before it picks up pace as the remainder of the trio strike up a note or two.
This is a classic soundtrack tune and whilst it would not look out of place on a Muse album, I feel it sits more comfortably on a soundtrack album such as it is destined. The film (and accompanying soundtrack) will sell by the bucketload and fair play to Muse, it's about time they were given the chance to get a fantastic track hammered into the hearts of teenage goth/emo/vampires the whole world over....
I have fears of seeing the Muse boys dressed in comedy capes, wearing false fangs jumping about the place in the accompanying music video. No doubt it will be a more subtle affair with various out-takes from the film with the song playing in the background, possibly as the film comes to a close and the credits start to roll.
I just read that Chris Wolstenholme (Muse Bass player) will shortly be attending the birth of his and Kelly's fifth child, good luck to the both of you and commiserations to those of you who had tickets booked for the cancelled/re-arranged shows in North America......just be patient !!
Our Verdict : 5/5
